Tonight I played Line Hansen in the quarter finals of the Atwater Cup. Line got off to a flying start and I was down 2/7 in the first game. I composed myself and fought back to take the game 11/8. I was down again in the second 2/5 but picked up the pace and took out the second 11/7. The third game was tight but again I moved ahead to take the final game 11/8. Although I won in 3, the scores did not reflect how tough the match was. Line played well and hit some great winning shots.

I seem to be beating myself up out on court. Yesterday I noticed in the first game that my thumb on my left hand was pouring out blood and was all over my left leg. Not wanting to delay the game and come off court, I tried to contain the blood. For those who were watching, I do not have insecurity issues or suck my thumb in-between each point, it was just bleeding. Today I copped my own racket to my left ear after running into Line on the way to the ball. On a positive note, I had my racket up. Finally, my ring finger on my right hand is swollen but Im not really sure how that one came about. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I now face and inform Sarah Kippax in the semi finals tomorrow night at 6.30pm.
