In my first round match I was drawn to play Low Wee Wern of Malaysia who had beaten her two previous opponents in 3 games. We were scheduled to play at 12.15pm when the sun is at its brightest and makes some pretty hot conditions on the squash court. I knew it would be a tough game because Wee Wern is a very solid player, making few errors and has some great retrieving skills. My game plan was to stay in front of the young Malaysian and keep attacking, which worked well until the end of the 3rd game where I made some bad decisions with 3 match balls and ended up losing it in the tie break. No wanting to make the same mistake in the 4th game, I played well to get the early lead and ended up winning that game comfortably. I now have a day off tomorrow before I play Madeline Perry from Ireland, in the quarter finals on Thursday night. xx
